Western Digital looks to be releasing a new 1TB Xbox Series X|S expansion card as part of its WD_Black range, according to a listing on North American retail site Best Buy, which has since been removed. It's the first alternative option that's been offered to Seagate's expansion cards, and the WD_Black 1TB Xbox Series X|S card apparently retails for $180.
Seagate also offers a smaller 512GB Xbox Series X|S expansion card for $179.99, but, with the WD_Black version offering double the storage for the same price, this could render the Seagate option somewhat redundant, even if it does look a bit sleeker than Western Digital's cards.
Both the Seagate and Western Digital cards allow you to add extra SSD storage to your Xbox Series X or S console, via the slots on the back, preserving features like faster loading times and Quick Resume, as opposed to conventional external storage, which doesn't support these options.
Is it the 90s? Cmon Microsoft! You the people that gave me more storage in my original Xbox than I could possibly ever take up and now we are back to buying memory cards.?.
Yeah, while modern games become bigger and bigger, the storage capacity for a current generation console of only 1Tb is ridiculous. Microsoft should have put 2Tb of internal storage. At least, it is nice to know that Western Digital comes with a cheaper alternative for Seagate's highly-priced ones.

To date, the only official expansion card option for Xbox Series X|S has been provided by Seagate, with its rather pricey $219.99 1TB expansion card and even pricier 2TB $400 option. But soon, it looks like there might be a slightly cheaper alternative on the cards (no pun intended).
