Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been officially delayed to next year, following recent rumours that the game was set to be pushed back. This is a rather long delay, however, with the co-op shooter now set for February 2024, having been slated for May 2023.
“We have made the tough but necessary decision to take the time needed to work on getting the game to be the best quality experience for players,” developer Rocksteady Studios confirmed on Twitter.
“Thank you to our amazing community for the continued support, patience and understanding," the statement adds. "There is much more to share in the months ahead and we look forward to seeing you in Metropolis next year.”
Showcased in February, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League takes place within the Arkham universe, and sees Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark banding together to take down the likes of Superman, Batman, The Flash, and Wonder Woman who are under the thrall of super-villain, Brainiac.
With the delay said to be primarily for polish, it's thought that there will be little, if any, change to the game's live service component, its always-online requirement, looter-shooter combat, and battle pass. Time will tell whether Rocksteady makes any fundamental alterations to its take on the Suicide Squad.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will now be coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC on 2nd February 2024.
